We’re excited to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day from June 9-17.  We’re be planning events all week, but want to invite you to join us on Saturday June 9, to sit and knit under the DC-3 Plane from 1-3pm,  at the Yukon Transportation Museum, 30 Electra Crescent, Whitehorse, Yukon, Next to the Whitehorse Airport.  We’re happy to teach you how to knit and crochet too!  If it’s raining, we’ll head inside the Yukon Transportation Museum.

We’ll be knitting in public and  hosting more events this week, stay tuned to our facebook and blog!

Not sure what it is? here’s a brief history of WWKP “World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes.  It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company.  Knitting is such a solitary act that it’s easy to knit alone somewhere and sink into your work without thinking about all the other knitters out there.  Neighbors could spend all their lives never knowing that the other knits.  This a specific day to get out of your house and go to a local event (with your knitting in tow) just for you and people like you.  Who knows you might even bump into your neighbor!  Consider this a spark, to ignite a fire; getting all of the closeted knitters out into fresh air.”
