Yarn Bombing for the Winterval Parade

We gathered a team together to yarn bomb a truck for the winterval parade.  We’re happy to be a part of the holiday event and to get out and yarn bomb again. Because it was so cold, we deiced to use zip ties to fasten the yarn, rather than sewing.  Thankfully we were inside, but it wasn’t a heated garage so we had to work quickly. It’s been super cold here (-40 with the wind chill) and our yarn bombing has been on hold out of doors, till the weather warms up and our fingers don’t freeze.

Thanks to our wonderful yarn bombing crew Amber Church, Bree and the Yukon Arts Centre Public Art Gallery for staff and install support.  Rumor had it that Santa would be riding in the back of the truck, but declined when he was offered a fancy fire truck instead.

In other news, we’ve sorted through some of the blankets and  donated them to the Outreach Van, which will give locals in need blankets to keep warm in this winter.
